NWA 7823
L3 Chondrite

I am pleased to introduce NWA 7823, a beautiful L3 chondrite, which generated some  stunning, chondrule-packed slices. All of which originate from a single 228 gram stone purchased earlier in the year.

All slices have been expertly prepared to custom specifications that enhance the aesthetics and features of type-3 meteorites. One side is mirror polished to bring out the rich color and contrast of both the chondrules and matrix, while the other side is finished matte to bring out individual chondrule detail. As a result, the buyer gets the best of both worlds and can study all of the different features of this gorgeous L3 to its full potential.

Note that nearly all of these slices are full slices of the stone and, though the original stone was chipped in places, there are still a few slices with a 100% rind of fusion crust. In any event, should the buyer prioritize crust or chondrule, they will come away pleased with an expertly prepared and elite type-3 specimen from NWA!

Petrologic assessment by Dr. Anthony J. Irving, Ph.D.
