TUCSON (Ring)
Tucson, Arizona
Recognized in 1850 - Ungrouped Iron

Collection No. B260.1 - A 12.417 gram part slice from the Al Lang Collection. Lang acquired one of the only known pieces of the Tucson Ring made available to private collectors. It was Nininger/ASU #122a.

Below: A photo-excerpt from J.L. Smith's 1855 Memoir on Meteorites, which contains an early description of the Tucson Ring. It also contains this beautiful engraving depicting the ring as it appeared back then. Note the nodule on the inner ring, which has since been removed. The nodule was the source  of the Nininger/ASU sample and is also the parent piece to the sample here in the Bandli Collection.
